hello all, its vanessa here!
okay a couple of reminders !
1) COMMON TEST BREAK
okay as all of you know, all our common tests starts next week ! so we have to go on a short cca break. our break is from :
thursday, 19th feb- sunday, 1st march.
SO THIS MEANS THAT ! band will resume as per normal on MONDAY 2ND MARCH 09. and i know that the sec 4s are having their mother tongue mid years on 2nd march too ! SO ALL THE BEST SEC FOURS :D HAHAHA we can do it !
so again, i repeat. we have no cca this thursday, 19th feb!. and we resume our practices on the 2nd of march, monday.
2) your instruments.
okay because we have a pretty long break, i expect you guys to bring home your instruments to practice. I know there's a high chance that you won't have time to even practice as you will all be studying, but just bring home your instrument and perhaps you can play it during the weekend after all our common tests end , or even play while you're taking a break and finished studying. but if not, its best to practice during the weekend just before the 2nd of march.
HOWEVER, i want to make it compulsory for the SYF MEMBERS to bring home their instruments . I HIGHLYHIGHLYHIGHLY X 12345678910987654321 ENCOURAGE YOU GUYS TO BRING HOME YOUR INSTRUMENTS and practice during the weekend just before the 2nd of march, so that you'll be ready for monday's practice !
i am going to open the band room THURSDAY afternoon(19th feb) ,after school from 145pm-210pm for you guys to take home your instruments.
3)BAND T SHIRT MONEY.
we want all the band tshirt payment to be done by THIS WEEK. since we have a cca break, it makes things even worse cause it's very hard to see all of you. so i have decided on something ! i want all the people (sec 2s-5s) who have not paid up for their band tshirt, to meet me in the hall ,thursday(19th feb) afternoon after school, at 150pm(since it is friday's timetable and so we end at 145pm). For those people who require financial assistance, do not worry. we will take down your names and settle it :) but other then that, i want all the band tshirt payment in by tomorrow .
So i repeat !!! MEET IN THE HALL AT 150PM TO PAY UP FOR THE BAND TSHIRT.19th feb thursday.
4)Our preview today
okay honestly, our rehearsal in the morning before the actual thing was much better. We really really really need to work on our dynamics and phrasing. I received feedback from some people and i plan to share it with you guys soon. However the preview today was not bad overall, BUT ! WE CAN DO WAAAAAAAAAY BETTER. i know ya'll can do way way way way way way way better then today. SO, for now, just take this break and catch up on all your studying, and when you guys return for band practice, i want ya'll to focus on syf and work even harder ! cause i know ya'll can do it :)
Olivia and jaslynn recorded our preview today, and it was okay..but some parts really need improvement. SO, YES 40 more days to syf period!
and when you guys return for back practice, it's going to be 28 days to syf period. I REPEAT, 28 DAYS! WHICH! IS ! 4 ! WEEKS ! WHICH ! MEANS! SLIGHTLY ! LESS ! THEN ! A ! MONTH.
5) SECTION LEADERS!!
please make sure you contact our seniors to get the band uniform back! if they are unable to pass it back this week, please PLEASE DO IT ASAP ! inform mdm kee and i about it so that we know !
6) URGENT MEETING.
okay very last minute but this is a very urgent meeting. I'm quite sure most of you would not have plans tomorrow afternoon as we usually have practices on thursday, so you guys would be free. and plus, this meeting will only take about 15mins or less.
so, there will be a compulsory meeting for ALL SYF MEMBERS. I REPEAT, ALL SYF MEMBERS MEET IN THE HALL THURSDAY(19th feb) AFTERNOON, @ 150PM. if you guys are on time, we can end the meeting earlier. if not, we have to end it later. ALSO, all band members who HAVE NOT PAID UP FOR BAND TSHIRT(even if you're not in syf),report to the hall at 150pm to settle the payment.
OKAY. that is all, so please remember all this !!! and do check the band board at the canteen for more details and we'll also be sending out smses.
