HI ALL!

Tomorrow is the BIIIIIIIIIIIG day! OMG Im SO PSYCHED, i doubt i'll be able to fall asleep tonight! I think im going to bed at 9pm tonight. 9pm is damn freaking early but after wednesday i think ive learnt my lesson!

i lose total control of my thoughts and limbs when im sleepy so im not gonna take that risk again HAHA. YOU GUYS MUST SLEEP EARLY TOO K.

Heres somethings you should do before you go to bed!

1) Triple check that youve got everything for tomorrow
2) Go through the entire sequence of tomorrow in your head
3) Pray
4) Tell yourself youre NOT AFRAID AND NOTHINGS GONNA STOP YOU

5) Set your alarm clock OMG

And when youre awake the next day heres a list of things im gonna do which you might wanna consider to get us all hyper!

1) Sleep for 9 hours
2) Wakeup and JUMP out of bed
3) Shower in cold water
4) EAT ALOT FOR BREAKFAST
5) Drink coffee
6) Consume multiple bananas

NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO PANIC OR SAY " IM SCARED " or anything like that tomorrow ah!

Like ness said, we dont want anyone feeling pressured or thinking about the points alright?

All we're asking for is the best from everyone, and thats all to it.

Play like you mean it and move like no ones looking.

It dosent matter what we get cos again, like ness said, we will always be proud of our band no matter what. Regardless of the result, cos really, thats not what matters

cos we have complete faith in everyone of you and trust me:

ALL IS GOOD.

29TH MARCH, SUNDAY.

Dear band,

Tomorrow is syf day. You've worked really hard these past few months so please give it your all tomorrow. I am really sure that all of you would push and give everything you've got tomorrow . No matter what, please know that the three leaders will always be proud of you guys and we're already so happy with how far we've come and how much we've accomplished.

So for tomorrow, just do your best! Remember not to think of the points cause you'll be?! disapPOINTed (haha catchy phrase) Cause if you just do your best, you should still feel satisfied at the end of it tomorrow. Do your best tomorrow for audrey's batch, ruoen's batch and our current juniors and make them proud :) and Of course, do your best for mr d, mr juraimi, mdm kee, mr faisal, ms lim and our school since they have done alot for us:)

So for today, just rest well and drink lots of water. Don't over work yourself and practice your instrument too much ! Be mentally and physically prepared for tomorrow !

Pls report to the sunken foyer @ 630am sharp in your FULL BAND UNIFORM.

and do not worry,you won't perspire in your band u cause you'll be in the music room :D

and pls be reminded to bring your school stuff for atleast the last two periods of the day as we'll arrive back in school at about 1245pm or so. You are also NOT excused from tutorials if you have any tomorrow noon. The results are out at 5pm at S.C.H itself but pls note that you are on your own to go there and the school is not responsible if anything were to happen. So pls be careful ! and please be in your FULL band uniform when you are at S.C.H waiting for results ! must ok !

hello baaaaaaaaand !

SO ! we have just finished our syf preview !

Okay just some feedback !

haha okay ,

1) smiling !

our seniors said that we looked damn sad while performing. HAHAHA okay, i know what they mean. cause honestly my face looked stress ...as usual. but anyway, i know the piece has alot of emo parts especially chorale, but please give like..nicer facial expressions for overture or something okay. And smile while waiting for your turn to play, don't look so stoned :/ ! but overall, what i mean is.......SMILE MORE OFTEN :)

2) what i think !

OKAY to me, our performance today went well. I'm so proud of you guys for following the correct dynamics and all :) But of course, there is still room for improvement . We need to practice on our balance and stuff like that. But other then that, good job! keep it up guys !

3) we have..

NINE DAYS LEFT TO SYF.
TOMORROW WILL BE EIGHT DAYS.
AND MONDAY WILL BE SEVEN DAYS.
WHICH IS A WEEK.
WHICH IS.. 24X7 HOURS (sorry i can't do mental sums very well now).

and we only have,

FIVE PRACTICES LEFT . so please, make the best out of all our five practices. Bring home your instruments after every practice to work on your individual parts so that when you come for band practice, we can work on our sound as a whole .

4) Band uniform attire etc.

Okay our hairstyle today was quite a disaster. I hope most of you have realised that you actually need quite a bit of time to do up your hair and all. So pls remember, all of you HAVE to buy the bun net thing . You must buy them by this wednesday as we will have a "rehearsal" for it just for that assembly performance. You must get them by this wednesday.

but overall, i'm very proud of all of you for coming this far and not giving up at all. Thank you so much and I really really appreciate it ! keep on working hard ! :) AND , be prepared for this coming week as it's going to be very tiring. Make sure you don't fall sick and manage your time for school work. Rest well guys!

HEYYYY GUYS !

okay so i hope that you guys have learnt something from our exchange with loyang secondary today. Today was the last exchange with loyang before syf, do go down and support loyang on their syf day. Ask me for more details. But if i'm not wrong, they're on day 4 and their band is on somewhere in the evening :)

OKAY, this post is concerning tomorrow, the syf preview day at school ! (only for syf members)

Reporting time?!

Fall in @ 845am at the sunken foyer, in HALF U . I have already smsed the section leaders the hairstyle(changed to bun) and all for tomorrow, and remember! only black clips are allowed ! and if you are wearing a hairband, it's only the selected colours we told you about which are : red, black or blue. hahaha no shiny shiny patterny kind ah ! You need not come to school with the bun. you can tie it before the performance !

Venue : School hall !
Time : 5pm-730pm.

SEC ONES AND TWOS, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO COME DOWN AND support the band and your friends from other syf groups too :)

Okay, rest well tonight ! it's going to be a VERY EXTREMELY long day tomorrow ! we end only after 8- 830pm(latest 845pm) okay because we need to pack up and stuff like that and i guess there'll be a briefing after the performance. So if any of your parents are coming to fetch you,perhaps almost 9pm around there would be a good timing :)

HI ALL.

i am here to confirm the plan for our exchange at loyang. By now, most of you should have already received smses from your section leaders but i'll just type it here to in case you are confused.

THOSE WITHOUT TUTORIALS,

you report at the sunken foyer in FULL UNIFORM @ 8 am SHARP. after fall in,You'll take your instruments and board the bus to loyang.

THOSE WITH TUTORIALS,

you report to loyang secondary BY YOURSELF (public transport) after you've ended your class. Abigail will be opening the band room at 10 am for those of you who end class at 10 am while Priscilla will be opening the band room again at 1230pm for those of you who end class at 1230pm. You have to report to loyang BEFORE 2PM.

Only Tubas and bari sax will be brought to loyang in the morning . The rest of you have to get your instruments by yourself after your tutorials and proceed down to loyang.

SECTION LEADERS, pls ensure that you know which section members have tutorials and which members do not have tutorials and let vanessa or olivia know by tonight.

How to get to loyang?
Take bus 17 from school and go to pasir ris. Stop at the bus stop in front of WHITE SANDS PRIMARY SCHOOL and once you drop of the bus, walk towards the coffeeshops ! and just walk through the blocks across the coffeeshops and you'll see loyang secondary.

OR,

take bus 17 straight to pasir ris interchange and take bus 359 . It'll stop right in front of loyang.

BUT IF you really do not know how to get there and don't understand whatever i just wrote up there, go and search online for details on how to get there, or even better, just go in a big group as i'm sure atleast one of you would know how to get to loyang . Sec ones and twos who do not know how to get to loyang and have tutorials, please call your section leaders for help.

Do you need to bring stands?

Sec ones and twos,

yes bring your stands along.

Syf members,

Actually, you don't have to bring your stands along because by right, you should've already remembered your scores. hahaha so you actually do not need your stands :) But if you really REALLY REALLY REALLY cannot remember, then bring your stands.

AND VERY IMPORTANT, this goes out especially to the sec ones and twos :

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU'VE HANDED IN YOUR CONSENT FORM ABOUT OUR PRACTICE DATES. if you have not, BRING IT TOMORROW. or you will not board the bus !

hey band :)

okay a couple of announcements !

TO ALL SEC ONES AND TWOS (excluding those in syf group):

HELLO !

your next band practice will be this friday (20th March) @ Loyang Secondary. Please check the blog again tomorrow, or wait for an sms from your sls pertaining to friday !I will confirm with you guys again on whether transport will be provided for those of you who have tutorials. For now just wait for the confirmation :)

For those of you who have no tutorials, the fall in time will be confirmed tomorrow as well !

TO SYF GROUP MEMBERS :

1)Your next practice is tomorrow of course ! hahahaha loyang will be coming down. Please do not be late ! fall in @ 115pm at the sunken foyer IN YOUR BAND T. For those juniors who have no band t, pls report in half u :)

and similarly to what i wrote to the sec ones and twos, i will confirm with you guys the plan for friday ! (exchange at loyang) . Sec 4 sls, pls wait for an sms :) or check this blog !

hey band,

a couple of annoucements.

1) Contact numbers

sec three or sec four sls, please find out the contact numbers of your new section members. This is so you can pass down any messages to them regarding our practices or whatsoever.

or! even better, sec ones and new sec twos, please get ready your Name, section and handphone number on a piece of paper so you can pass it to your section leaders if you see them in school at any time.

2) Fall In timings

As usual, fall in time will always be half an hour before scheduled practice ! if you look at your forms, they have already written down the half an hour allowance timing.

eg :

130pm-5pm.

Practice starts at 2pm, but they've already noted down the fall in time(130pm). So, report at the time stated on your forms !

3) Nafa (thursday)

All syf members, please be reminded that we have to SET UP IN THE HALL BY 1130AM SHARP. Section leaders please arrange a timing to meet up so that you guys will set up on time. Do not be late! Please wear your new band tshirt for nafa.For those with no band t shirt, report in half u ! or the old band tshirt.

4) Consent forms

please hand in the consent forms regarding all our practices BY WEDNESDAY LATEST. syf members are allowed to hand them in on thursday instead since i'll be seeing you guys then. However, sec twos and ones must hand the forms in latest BY WEDNESDAY. Meet olivia and vanessa outside the hall at 830am before assembly on wednesday morning to hand them in :)

22 DAYS TO SYF and that,
tomorrow is exactly three weeks from syf.

(and i think our blog date is a little cuckoo so just ignore it. today is sunday.)

so continue working hard guys ! making good progress so far :)

oh and please be reminded to sign your forms about all our practices as you need to hand it in ON MONDAY. section leaders, please give out the forms to your sec ones and absent sec 2s-5s on monday and further instructions will be given out after that ! thanks.

ps : ITS JASLYNN'S BIRTHDAY TODAY, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR LIBRARIAN AND THANK YOU for always going down and up to give and photocopy scores HAHA.

HELLO ALL!

i'm sure most of you have already heard ! the balloting results are out and we have gotten our slot !

we are band no. 4 of day ONE. thus, do the calculations guys ! WE ARE 26 DAYS AWAY FROM SYF ! we are on after evergreen secondary school and once we're done,there will be a short break till the next few bands come on. Our timing is at 1015am and we have to report 45 minutes earlier.

hello band!!

i'm here to write down the dates which all SYF members must remember. Compulsory to attend activities on each date UNLESS you have an extremely extremely valid reason! please ask me if you need to clarify anything about the dates or have any questions about each activity.

12 March 09 (thursday)- rehearsal 3pm-5pm

14 March 09 (saturday)- 830am-1130am workshop @ loyang(this is not compulsory, however i strongly encourage you guys to go down to loyang)

18 March 09 (wednesday) - workshop @ sac 130pm-430pm

19 March 09 (thursday)- band practice 2pm-5pm

20 March 09 (friday) - combine with loyang (exact timing to be confirmed however it will be on for the WHOLE DAY)

21 March 09 (saturday) - Our school's preview day ! 930am- 845pm

25 March 09 (wednesday) - last assembly performance in school + workshop (timing for workshop to be confirmed later)

27 March 09 (friday) - rehearsal (timing to be confirmed again later, but should be in the evening. This is VERYVERY IMPORTANT. MUST.BE.PRESENT.)

28 March 09 (saturday) - band practice 930am-1230pm

okay everything that has been coloured purple is COMPULSORY for all syf members to attend! i know that there are many dates up there, but please co-operate and come down everyday !! We only have a bit of time left and we are going to maximize all the time left and make sure we make the best of it and get all the help we can :) keep going okay !

Please make sure that you are free on these days and change the days of your other outside activities to try and prevent it from clashing with band. (However if you really really really really cannot change, then its okay but please TRY YOUR BEST TO CHANGE THEM)

FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT PAID UP FOR THE BAND T SHIRT, PLEASE DO SO BY THIS WEEK. You can find for olivia in the secondary 4/7 classroom which is located on the 4th floor, just a few classrooms down from the " room " .

CONTINUE WORKING HARD GUYS ! 28 MORE DAYS TO SYF PERIOD !

and SECTION LEADERS, please get all the band uniforms back !!

a couple of reminders.

band resumes for EVERYONE . so please check the notice board for fall in time etc. PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR INSTRUMENTS AND FILES BACK TO SCHOOL !!
