Sec 4s, there won't be NAPFA for us on 5 April, our's will be on 12 April instead. On 5th April evening, the results will be released, you can make your way down to Tanjong Pagar MRT STN and walk to Singapore Conference Hall, it's VERY near (: Just don't walk wrongly ^^ Results will be released at about 5:45PM(:

I don't think I've really been a good drum major but I do hope you will give your best next Tuesday. Not for anybody, but for yourself, enjoy the music. Make your teachers, Sir, school, and leaders proud. Whatever the result, just do your best, don't make any regrets. Remember how you played, remember the 2 workshops. Remember all the hard work and effort you put in, to come back during the holidays. If you feel that you haven't, put it in now, at least you know you put it in. It's never too late(: On 13th April, sec 4s will be stepping down. Don't leave any regrets in band. Enjoy your last few days. Make full use of it then, concentrate on O's/N's. Even if you don't continue being in the band, one day, you'll look back and remember this SYF and remember what you learnt and achieved from band.

Classiques! at Esplanade will see Resident Conductor Adrian Chiang leading the Philharmonic Youth Winds through a programme of wind literature encompassing vigour, energy and passion.

Philharmonic Youth Winds will be performing Samuel L. Hazo’s Ride, an “exhilaratingly fun piece for any band to play”, as well as David Gillingham’s critically acclaimed Concerto for Horn and Symphonic Band featuring horn player Lewis Poh from The ...Philharmonic Winds and Singapore Armed Forces Central Band.

Singapore Symphony Orchestra cellist Chan Wei Shing takes to the stage in Johan de Meij’s Casanova for Cello and Wind Orchestra, for which the Dutch composer received a First Prize at the International Composition Competition of Corciano, Italy in 1999.

Also on the lineup is Equus, an excellent demonstration of “dynamic minimalism” and a “virtuosic show piece for winds”, by renowned composer Eric Whitacre, guest conducted by Tay Kai Tze of The Philharmonic Winds.

In commemoration of Gustav Mahler’s 150th birth anniversary, the concert will end with the Finale from Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D major, arranged for wind orchestra by Hardy Mertens.

Hey Band!
EVERYONE MUST BRING BACK YOUR INSTRUMENTS!
I opened the bandroom and barely a hand full came and collect their instruments.
This is very disappointing.. I really hope you all will do something about it.
There are serious disilpine issues that I need to address as its really getting from bad to worst.

CCA NOTICEBOARD
The notice board is there for a reason and not for show! People are not even taking the simple initiative to even look at the CCA noticeboard for updates or information that are written there! I took the effort to update the noticeboard regularly as possible so why cant everyone of you take initiative to even spare a minute to look at it. My recess might be later than the rest of you but i do not have a choice! At least check it after school or sms/call your sls. If you cannot contact them you can always call me. I am sure all of you seniors would have my no. I really hope not to receive such excuse like i did not see the notice therefore i dont know whats going on. I cannot keep reminding everyone on such small issues. Do not rely on relay smses. Smses will only be sent if its emergency or last minute hiccups.

Not turning up for band on time & Mess after Full Band
This has been going on for the longest time! Theres always a time frame given for everyone to set up and get ready for combine and why is it only after the given time then i see people strolling in?! Chairs are not even set up for your section? Or do you take it for granted that sometimes other section people who comes early and help you set up at times and does not even get thanked but complains of shortage of chairs or extras!
How many times do the leaders have to repeat to not leave anything behind and stack the chairs in 10s and arrange them nicely? Before locking up i still see a mess left behind.
Especially the Clarinet Section who always leaves chairs behind and runs off after every combine practice! This is not the first time this happened if this carries on punishments will be implemented and i mean it! I am tired of being your section maid being the last to leave and clear your mess!

Good job running/walking/brisk walking! You guys sure did help the poor! HAHA. :D AWESOME JOB! :D Please listen and respect the person standing in front of you. That person is human too. Don't let them shout too much. Not good for throat, not good for heart. :D

BAND ROOM OPEN TOMORROW!

Tomorrow, the band room will be open :D Please go down and take your instruments or even practice if there are no exams. Please don't just bring it home and do nothing. Try to practice it every once in awhile when you're taking a break after studying. :D

SEC 2s LIBRARY cleanup!

library cleanup, as in, band library cleanup. CIP points will be awarded and you'll have to go for it, it's COMPULSORY. It'll be on the 23rd November 2009. Those who can't make it have to have a letter/MC. The reason have to be valid.

Give it to your SLs and I'll collect it them from your SLs. Please take note, it's by 1 NOVEMBER! ONE NOVEMBER. FIRST. FIRST! Please co-operate 'cause we really need the information!

Even though the performance yesterday wasnt as what many of us expected but we still got 7hours of CIP clocked in!

Juniors- You all did good job to think that its your first performance in public. Enjoy your music and you girls can definitely go further in band(: Sec3s are proud of you all! Regardless if you made mistakes or not. Everyone will learn from it. And put them into practice in the next performance. And please DONOT get big headed after praises. But still continue to work harder. Get the Passion for band and music fire burning!

Attire: Full U & School shoes (NO coloured shoes/sneakers!)

Hairstyles- Fringes must all be clipped up! Neat and proper.
Be in school by 1pm to take your instruments and everything needed for the performance.

People with small instruments please go and help the Percussion section move their instruments.
I donot want to see people standing/sitting there doing nothing.

1) Performance Details On the 12th Sept For SEC1-3s
Venue- Ceylon Sports Club@ Lavender
Attire- To be confirmed asap!
Transport will be provided!
To be in school by 1.30 with instruments ready at the sunken foyer.
Clarinet Section; Bring black stand and banners for the stand.
Performance should end around 7.30.
Muslim Students are required to bring some food to break fast.

Dear fellow band members,

1. NO CCA TILL FURTHER NOTICE.

2.We will be putting this band blog to good use so there will not be ANYMORE notifications being sent through smses unless needed. This will also help some SLs save smses.

3.The band room will be open this wed, 12/8/09. All of you are required to bring home your instruments for the time being. As there'll be an inventory check on all instruments this month, you need to bring it back till the PFA is done with the inventory check. The proper date will be given asap. BRING HOME & PRACTICE. No point leaving your instrument there to collect dust.
No excuses for all insturments except bari sax, tuba & euophonium. Please bring your mouthpieces home.

4.WE HAVE NEW SCORES!
It is YOUR responsibility to get them from the librarians on WED.
I will not be opening the band room after that.

I will not allow any excuses (eg. tuition) unless it's a school event thing. Inform Mr Fasial if you do.

My wish for the futher practises is that you guys will be more organised & have more self discipline. I just want the best for all. All these should be up in your head. I'm quite tired of repeating myself over & over again. To those who haven't been coming to band practices regularly: 1 person makes a difference to the whole band.
If we know our work, mr de wouldn't flare up everytime.
If you knew your dirlls & executed them properly, we wouldn't make you keep doing it.
Remember what we promised our seniors at the last POP.
It's all up to us.
We control the future of the band.
We could soar to greater heights if we just start & keep up the good habits.
I hope to see an improvement in the next practise.
Remember our actions determine our consequences.

THERE IS NO CCA TOMORROW 19/7.
Band will resume on Thurs, 23/7 for juniors ONLY.
So it'll be like the band practices before SYF.
Monday - Combine (Seniors + Juniors)

Fri - Seniors Only
This ensure that each student only attends CCA 2 times a week.
CCA will be from 3.30-5.30.
Due to prelim. there is no CCA on 20th July.
On 27th Aug, CCA will start at 4pm to 5.30pm instead due to Math prelim papers that ends at 3.30pm.

MUSIC EXAMINATIONS
The registration for music examinations is now open to all Sec 1-4NA Band Members.
If interested, please sms me your name, instrument & the grade that you will be taking.
School will be subsiding but i'm not sure how much it'll be. I'll update the bog when i know the exact details.

HI GIRLS!
CCA will be suspended till further notice.
I will be opening the band room after school on Tues, 7/7 after 2.15pm & Thurs, 9/7 after 1.15pm.
Those who haven't take their instruments to kindly do so as we have perfomances coming up & you NEED to run through the new pieces. Details will be given after i get the proper information about the upcoming performances. ALL SMALL INSTURUMENTS TO BE BROUGHT HOME. IT IS A MUST.
As for the bigger instruments, SL's to find a way where all of you can come together to practice.

There will be a batch meeting this Thursday (11th), 2pm, stage hall. Bring along a notebook & pen! For those who really cannot make for some reason or another, please ask your section mate to help you take notes down first.

I hope today's practice has taught you girls to beather properly! & please, speak up when Mr De asks you questions! Today's sight reading was slightly better but i know you all can do better! Really push yourself to your limit. I really believe that we can do it! I'm really sorry but we're going to be quite hard on you for the next few practices. We mean well.

The band room will be open this Friday (12th) for the sec 1s for self practice @ 2pm. Other band members you are encouraged to come down for self practice or to help your juniors. Ex-seniors! If you're free, you might want to come down for these 2 practices. We'd love to see you again. (:

HI BAND! Many things to tell yall today!

Firstly, there will be spring cleaning of the band room this Monday, 25th May. Each member in the section MUST bring a rag & Sl's to bring a bucket for the water. Water to be taken from the 4th Floor Toilet. BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS. Please organise your scores properly! A Suggestion: you might want to put some small drawers/folders in the section cupboard. Or you could label your scores after filing. If you have free time, you might also want to polish/clean your instruments.
While doing that, the sec 1s will be with us (Me, Alison & Pris) for drills. The Sec 2 Leaders (Fung Ling, Melissa & Ying Ying) are to take charge. Trash Bags will not be provided so do something about it & no, don't chuck everything into the school's dustbin. You are allowed to come in half u.

Secondly, I'm assuming now all of yall have the CCA June Holiday Schedule. Please apporach me if you do not have it.

This notice is for the SAXOPHONE SECTION ONLY.
A Saxophone Master Class is coming up on the 26th Of June, Friday. I would strongly encourage you to attend as you juniors would be able to benefit quite alot. I would most probably be attending the Student Class. This class is suitable for beginners & intermediate players. At the end of the session, there will be a combined saxophone ensemble. HOW COOL IS THAT! :DDD the course in $25 per person & it will be held at Bukit View Seconday School, Bukit Batok Street 21. No saxophones will be provided so you'd have to bring your own. If interested, please sms me asap!

Fourthly, SYF PHOTOS! Payments to be made to Alison by Monday. Put a reminder in your phone if you have to! We need to collect the moolah $$ asap. O$P$, as what Nicole decides to call it. HAHA.

Fifth, we are very upset with the discipline of the band.
We heard that very little of you people helped the Percussion after combine on Thursday. WE ARE A BAND. EVERYONE IN THE BAND IS SUPPOSED TO BE HELPING EACH OTHER OUT. Being in a band, you ought to have good self discipline. Since the seniors are gone, we cannot afford to loose anymore. All i'm asking is for yall to co-operate & understand us. I don't not wish to make yall hate the Band. This is just the starting so i'm expeting better behaviour in the coming months.
Sec3s! Now, being the seniors in the band, i hope that you would try your best to co-operate with us so that we can be a better batch/role models.
Sec2s! Congrats on making up into the Senior Band! (: We look forward to work with you guys but i need your batch to work even harder for the next SYF/peformances coming up. I believe everyone of yall can do it!
Sec1s! Us being direct seniors to you, i wish that you can respect us more & soar to greater heights in this Band. The seniors will give this promise to you that we will try yo help you in every way possible but please do not EVER take advantage of us. Also, know when is the correct time to talk. okay, to make things clear ! here are the instructions again,

1)sec ones and twos NOT PERFORMING.

ok hi guys! you just proceed to the hall as usual with your class for your assembly. just remain seated in your class and enjoy the peformance! once assembly is done, quickly go down to the canteen to get further instructions on what you need to help around with ! Please be very alert and quick ! :)

2) syf members performing

pls rmb to have your overture and hard days night score with you !! You are released from school @ 1215pm and quickly go to the band room to get all your instruments and stuff and head down to the hall to set up AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. and pls do not disturb the classes while going down or make any noise !

hahaha behaviour wise, you guys should know how to behave. Pls be friendly and remember that they are our guests :)

HI ALL!

Tomorrow is the BIIIIIIIIIIIG day! OMG Im SO PSYCHED, i doubt i'll be able to fall asleep tonight! I think im going to bed at 9pm tonight. 9pm is damn freaking early but after wednesday i think ive learnt my lesson!

i lose total control of my thoughts and limbs when im sleepy so im not gonna take that risk again HAHA. YOU GUYS MUST SLEEP EARLY TOO K.

Heres somethings you should do before you go to bed!

1) Triple check that youve got everything for tomorrow
2) Go through the entire sequence of tomorrow in your head
3) Pray
4) Tell yourself youre NOT AFRAID AND NOTHINGS GONNA STOP YOU

5) Set your alarm clock OMG

And when youre awake the next day heres a list of things im gonna do which you might wanna consider to get us all hyper!

1) Sleep for 9 hours
2) Wakeup and JUMP out of bed
3) Shower in cold water
4) EAT ALOT FOR BREAKFAST
5) Drink coffee
6) Consume multiple bananas

29TH MARCH, SUNDAY.

Dear band,

Tomorrow is syf day. You've worked really hard these past few months so please give it your all tomorrow. I am really sure that all of you would push and give everything you've got tomorrow . No matter what, please know that the three leaders will always be proud of you guys and we're already so happy with how far we've come and how much we've accomplished.

So for tomorrow, just do your best! Remember not to think of the points cause you'll be?! disapPOINTed (haha catchy phrase) Cause if you just do your best, you should still feel satisfied at the end of it tomorrow. Do your best tomorrow for audrey's batch, ruoen's batch and our current juniors and make them proud :) and Of course, do your best for mr d, mr juraimi, mdm kee, mr faisal, ms lim and our school since they have done alot for us:)

So for today, just rest well and drink lots of water. Don't over work yourself and practice your instrument too much ! Be mentally and physically prepared for tomorrow !

SO ! we have just finished our syf preview !

Okay just some feedback !

haha okay ,

1) smiling !

our seniors said that we looked damn sad while performing. HAHAHA okay, i know what they mean. cause honestly my face looked stress ...as usual. but anyway, i know the piece has alot of emo parts especially chorale, but please give like..nicer facial expressions for overture or something okay. And smile while waiting for your turn to play, don't look so stoned :/ ! but overall, what i mean is.......SMILE MORE OFTEN :)

2) what i think !

OKAY to me, our performance today went well. I'm so proud of you guys for following the correct dynamics and all :) But of course, there is still room for improvement . We need to practice on our balance and stuff like that. But other then that, good job! keep it up guys !

3) we have..

NINE DAYS LEFT TO SYF.
TOMORROW WILL BE EIGHT DAYS.
AND MONDAY WILL BE SEVEN DAYS.
WHICH IS A WEEK.
WHICH IS.. 24X7 HOURS (sorry i can't do mental sums very well now).

FIVE PRACTICES LEFT . so please, make the best out of all our five practices. Bring home your instruments after every practice to work on your individual parts so that when you come for band practice, we can work on our sound as a whole .

4) Band uniform attire etc.

Okay our hairstyle today was quite a disaster. I hope most of you have realised that you actually need quite a bit of time to do up your hair and all. So pls remember, all of you HAVE to buy the bun net thing . You must buy them by this wednesday as we will have a "rehearsal" for it just for that assembly performance. You must get them by this wednesday.

but overall, i'm very proud of all of you for coming this far and not giving up at all. Thank you so much and I really really appreciate it ! keep on working hard ! :) AND , be prepared for this coming week as it's going to be very tiring. Make sure you don't fall sick and manage your time for school work. Rest well guys!

HI ALL.

i am here to confirm the plan for our exchange at loyang. By now, most of you should have already received smses from your section leaders but i'll just type it here to in case you are confused.

THOSE WITHOUT TUTORIALS,

you report at the sunken foyer in FULL UNIFORM @ 8 am SHARP. after fall in,You'll take your instruments and board the bus to loyang.

THOSE WITH TUTORIALS,

you report to loyang secondary BY YOURSELF (public transport) after you've ended your class. Abigail will be opening the band room at 10 am for those of you who end class at 10 am while Priscilla will be opening the band room again at 1230pm for those of you who end class at 1230pm. You have to report to loyang BEFORE 2PM.

Only Tubas and bari sax will be brought to loyang in the morning . The rest of you have to get your instruments by yourself after your tutorials and proceed down to loyang.

SECTION LEADERS, pls ensure that you know which section members have tutorials and which members do not have tutorials and let vanessa or olivia know by tonight.

How to get to loyang?
Take bus 17 from school and go to pasir ris. Stop at the bus stop in front of WHITE SANDS PRIMARY SCHOOL and once you drop of the bus, walk towards the coffeeshops ! and just walk through the blocks across the coffeeshops and you'll see loyang secondary.

OR,

take bus 17 straight to pasir ris interchange and take bus 359 . It'll stop right in front of loyang.

BUT IF you really do not know how to get there and don't understand whatever i just wrote up there, go and search online for details on how to get there, or even better, just go in a big group as i'm sure atleast one of you would know how to get to loyang . Sec ones and twos who do not know how to get to loyang and have tutorials, please call your section leaders for help.

hey band,

a couple of annoucements.

1) Contact numbers

sec three or sec four sls, please find out the contact numbers of your new section members. This is so you can pass down any messages to them regarding our practices or whatsoever.

or! even better, sec ones and new sec twos, please get ready your Name, section and handphone number on a piece of paper so you can pass it to your section leaders if you see them in school at any time.

2) Fall In timings

As usual, fall in time will always be half an hour before scheduled practice ! if you look at your forms, they have already written down the half an hour allowance timing.

eg :

130pm-5pm.

Practice starts at 2pm, but they've already noted down the fall in time(130pm). So, report at the time stated on your forms !

3) Nafa (thursday)

All syf members, please be reminded that we have to SET UP IN THE HALL BY 1130AM SHARP. Section leaders please arrange a timing to meet up so that you guys will set up on time. Do not be late! Please wear your new band tshirt for nafa.For those with no band t shirt, report in half u ! or the old band tshirt.

4) Consent forms

please hand in the consent forms regarding all our practices BY WEDNESDAY LATEST. syf members are allowed to hand them in on thursday instead since i'll be seeing you guys then. i'm here to write down the dates which all SYF members must remember. Compulsory to attend activities on each date UNLESS you have an extremely extremely valid reason! please ask me if you need to clarify anything about the dates or have any questions about each activity.

12 March 09 (thursday)- rehearsal 3pm-5pm

14 March 09 (saturday)- 830am-1130am workshop @ loyang(this is not compulsory, however i strongly encourage you guys to go down to loyang)

18 March 09 (wednesday) - workshop @ sac 130pm-430pm

19 March 09 (thursday)- band practice 2pm-5pm

20 March 09 (friday) - combine with loyang (exact timing to be confirmed however it will be on for the WHOLE DAY)

21 March 09 (saturday) - Our school's preview day ! 930am- 845pm

25 March 09 (wednesday) - last assembly performance in school + workshop (timing for workshop to be confirmed later)

hello all, its vanessa here!

okay a couple of reminders !

1) COMMON TEST BREAK

okay as all of you know, all our common tests starts next week ! so we have to go on a short cca break. our break is from :

thursday, 19th feb- sunday, 1st march.

SO THIS MEANS THAT ! band will resume as per normal on MONDAY 2ND MARCH 09. and i know that the sec 4s are having their mother tongue mid years on 2nd march too ! SO ALL THE BEST SEC FOURS :D HAHAHA we can do it !

so again, i repeat. we have no cca this thursday, 19th feb!. and we resume our practices on the 2nd of march, monday.

2) your instruments.

okay because we have a pretty long break, i expect you guys to bring home your instruments to practice. I know there's a high chance that you won't have time to even practice as you will all be studying, but just bring home your instrument and perhaps you can play it during the weekend after all our common tests end , or even play while you're taking a break and finished studying. but if not, its best to practice during the weekend just before the 2nd of march.

HOWEVER, i want to make it compulsory for the SYF MEMBERS to bring home their instruments . I HIGHLYHIGHLYHIGHLY X 12345678910987654321 ENCOURAGE YOU GUYS TO BRING HOME YOUR INSTRUMENTS and practice during the weekend just before the 2nd of march, so that you'll be ready for monday's practice !

i am going to open the band room THURSDAY afternoon(19th feb) ,after school from 145pm-210pm for you guys to take home your instruments.

3)BAND T SHIRT MONEY.

we want all the band tshirt payment to be done by THIS WEEK. since we have a cca break, it makes things even worse cause it's very hard to see all of you. so i have decided on something ! i want all the people (sec 2s-5s) who have not paid up for their band tshirt, to meet me in the hall ,thursday(19th feb) afternoon after school, at 150pm(since it is friday's timetable and so we end at 145pm). For those people who require financial assistance, do not worry. we will take down your names and settle it :) but other then that, i want all the band tshirt payment in by tomorrow .

So i repeat !!! MEET IN THE HALL AT 150PM TO PAY UP FOR THE BAND TSHIRT.19th feb thursday.

4)Our preview today

okay honestly, our rehearsal in the morning before the actual thing was much better. We really really really need to work on our dynamics and phrasing. I received feedback from some people and i plan to share it with you guys soon. However the preview today was not bad overall, BUT ! WE CAN DO WAAAAAAAAAY BETTER. i know ya'll can do way way way way way way way better then today. SO, for now, just take this break and catch up on all your studying, and when you guys return for band practice, i want ya'll to focus on syf and work even harder ! cause i know ya'll can do it :)

Olivia and jaslynn recorded our preview today, and it was okay..but some parts really need improvement. SO, YES 40 more days to syf period!

and when you guys return for back practice, it's going to be 28 days to syf period. I REPEAT, 28 DAYS! WHICH! IS ! 4 ! WEEKS ! WHICH ! MEANS! SLIGHTLY ! LESS ! THEN ! A ! MONTH.

5) SECTION LEADERS!!

please make sure you contact our seniors to get the band uniform back! if they are unable to pass it back this week, please PLEASE DO IT ASAP ! inform mdm kee and i about it so that we know !

6) URGENT MEETING.

okay very last minute but this is a very urgent meeting. I'm quite sure most of you would not have plans tomorrow afternoon as we usually have practices on thursday, so you guys would be free. and plus, this meeting will only take about 15mins or less.

so, there will be a compulsory meeting for ALL SYF MEMBERS. I REPEAT, ALL SYF MEMBERS MEET IN THE HALL THURSDAY(19th feb) AFTERNOON, @ 150PM. if you guys are on time, we can end the meeting earlier. if not, we have to end it later. ALSO, all band members who HAVE NOT PAID UP FOR BAND TSHIRT(even if you're not in syf),report to the hall at 150pm to settle the payment.

OKAY. that is all, so please remember all this !!! and do check the band board at the canteen for more details and we'll also be sending out smses.

REMINDER: it's this wednesday, 18th of feb. fall in @ 7am SHARP, at the sunken foyer, in full school uniform. please make sure you have your name tags + whatever's necessary for your blouse , on !

2) ALL SEC 4 SECTION LEADERS

please remember to contact ruoen's batch to get back the band uniform! we need all the uniforms back by THIS THURSDAY 19th feb. Please inform us if you have already collected all the uniforms and need to put it somewhere so that we can open the band room for you . If any of you have trouble getting back the uniforms by this thursday, please inform mdm kee about it asap so that she knows ! and also inform ME !

3) BAND T SHIRT PAYMENT

there are still a few people who have not paid for the band shirt, pls remember to bring the money and have the initiative to tell us that you need to pay for it(and not wait for us to ask for the money) ! you can bring the money this wednesday so that you can get the shirt before our preview.

4) Today's practice !

okay just some feedback about today's practice. I thought that it went pretty well and I can see that some sections are improving :)))) Good job to the cornet section btw ! and qihui ! haha very proud of you guys :)

Keep going guys! I want to see more effort coming out of all of you :) 42 MORE DAYS !! 42 !! YOU GUYS CAN DO IT ! i know ya'll can. aim for accuracy !

Hey everyone,

Hope you liked the band shirts! For those who have not paid the $17, next week is the last week to pay! If you aren't able to pay the extra $2, dont fret, just approach Michelle, Nessa or I!
I think imma wear the band shirt on monday:D

Oh yes, this blogskin as mentioned by Nessa, is temporary! i'll make one when i have the time to.

The recordings for our performance at TPJC (Chorale and Jubiloso and Highlights From Grease) have also been sent out to some of you via email. Since i dont have all of your email addresses, please help to circulate the files to those who havent received it! ( You can check the email for whom i have sent it to).

I've also recoreded Friday's (6 Feb) practice. But the file is HUUUUGE and cannot be sent through email. I attempted uploading it on a site where you guys can download it right off from but it didnt quite seem to work... HAHA

OHOHOH I HAVE SOMETHING TO SHARE!!

This is a picture of the (very made up and covered with eyeliner HAHA) percussion section and Mr J after our performance at Chingay Pre-Parade 09!!

The other three girls are EX concert band members who are in Heartbeat PB playing along side Mr J now!!! it was pretty cool to be able to meet them and if any of you never knew, the two in blue are sisters and both EX DRUM MAJORS!!

COOL OR NOT?!?! COOL OR NOT?!?!

one of them actually taught me my first piece on the drumset! the reunion was totally awesome ( though she didnt remember me but ITS OK) cos we've never actually had a chance to met any of our EX EX seniors before! Other than the alumni band during our concert of course.

hello all!

just a couple of reminders.

1)BAND T SHIRT

okay band t shirt is only for sec 2s-5s ! (not including sec twos who just joined band this year).
each member has to pay $17. if anyone of you require financial assistance, please tell olivia or vanessa.

2) BAND UNIFORM

sec ones in syf ! pls be reminded that you have to purchase the band uniform blouse for syf. it's $24 . further details will be given when all is confirmed :D

3) SYF !!

syf is in 48 days ! again i emphasize, please work even harder now !! syf is approaching and this means that we have to put in 110% more effort in our work. WE CAN DOOOOOO IT ! keep on going guys, i believe in ya'll ! aim for accuracy :)

vanessa here. okay so, I have just created our very own band blog. this blog will be used for announcements, reminders or any stuff like that.

AND I KNOW the template is quite boring. But I'm just going to use this for the time being till I get a nicer template .

SO, this will be our other way of passing down any important messages. And plus, it would lessen down the trouble for section leaders cause I know they always have to remind their section and stuff. So for all band members, if you happen to forget whatever your section leader smsed you, just check this blog :D

So this means that payment for the shirts will start this week! We'll inform you more about pricing etc during the next band practice.

2)Juniors who are involved in syf this year ! You need to purchase the band uniform blouse ! i'll double check again and tell you when to pay for it !

3)51 DAYS TO SYF period.

Please continue to work hard okay guys! I believe you guys can do it . And don't feel disheartened if you feel that you did not do well for one practice. Just tell yourself to work harder during the next practice and I'm sure you'll all progress well KEEP ON GOING GUYS ! 51 DAYS IS 7 WEEKS AND TWO DAYS !! and time is going to fly fast ! we only have about 15-18 practices (without counting extra holiday practices) left !

sec fours + fives, these are your last few practices left with the band. Put in your all I know many of you are stressed with school but just keep on going ! Your four/five years of band boils down to this period of time. Take it easssssssssssy. Mich, oli and I are always here !

4)I don't know if you guys have already done this, but please put our syf choice and set piece together in your file. I don't want to see your set piece in the front and then your choice piece way at the back after our other pieces. Please put them together !! And remember to always have a pencil in your file too !
